Block One Parking Garage, Wichita, KS was completed in December 2012 at a cost of approximately $6.8 Million. The City of Wichita constructed a parking garage with 270 spaces and 8,400 square feet of retail space facing William Street (at 360 E. William) to accommodate the new Ambassador Hotel, Kansas Leadership Center and the general public. Forta Ferro, a macro-synthetic fiber system was specified at 4.0 lbs./cubic yard of concrete for all of the slab-on-grade concrete and topping slabs over precast tees. The concrete was supplied by Concrete Materials Co. (formerly Lafarge) and Major Concrete Inc. was the concrete contractor.
